 Graduate student Yin Liu will give a invited talk entitled Near-band-edge Photoluminescence of Y Doped CuAlO2 Nanofibers in the Materials Science & Technology 2015 in Pittsburgh, PA.

  • Dr. Wu was selected as the Vice President of the ACerS's ceramics education council.
  • Dr. Wu will serve as the symposium organizer for the following conferences: the 11th International Conference of Pacific Rim Ceramic Societies, Korea, 2015, 39th International Conference and Expo on Advanced Ceramics and Composites (ICACC), 2015, and 11th International Symposium on Ceramic Materials and Components for Energy and Environmental Applications, 2015.
  • On Aug, 2014, Dr. Wu gave two invited talks in the 5th International Congress of Ceramics, Beijing, China. "Transparent ceramic chips for photonic and optical applications" and "Divalent europium doped transparent ceramic scintillators".
  • On May, 2014, graduate student Yiyu Li was recongnized as the Dr. Richard C. Martin Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award winner of Alfred University. Undergraduate Eric J. Tower was awarded the Dr. Richard C. Martin Outstanding Senior Scholarship. Congratulations to them!
  • Graduate student Yan Yang was awarded the international conference travel grant by the American Ceramic Society.
  • Dr. Wu will serve as the symposium organizer for the 5th International Congress of Ceramics, Beijing, 2014.
  • Dr. Wu was selected to the Technical Program Committee of the 2nd  International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology.
  • Dr. Wu began to serve on the Editorial Board of Bioceramics Development and Applications.
  • Dr. Wu served as guest editor for Focus Issue for “Journal of Materials Research on Transparent and Optical Ceramics.
  • Dr. Wu's group attended the 38th International Conference & Exposition on Advanced Ceramics & Composites, 2014
    • Dr. Wu served as session chair and gave the invited talk entitled "A new aqueous-organic tape casting system for fabrication of transparent ceramics"
    • Yin Liu presented "Electrospray Deposition of CuAlO2 Thin Film and Possibility of Y Doping" and "Spark Plasma Sintering of Lithium Titanate".
    • Yan Yang presented "Eu2+ - Al2O3 Scintillator produced by Gel-casting and Vacuum Sintering".
    • Yiyu Li presented "Solid-State Single Crystal Conversion of Yb:S-FAP Polycrystalline Ceramics".
  • Dr. Wu served as the session chair for the 12th International Conference on Ceramic Processing Science, Portland, 2013.
  • Dr. Wu served as the session chair for the Materials Science & Technology Meeting, Montreal, Canada, 2013.
  • Dr. Wu served as the session chair for 5th International Symposium on Advanced Ceramics in conjunction with the 3rd International Symposium on Advanced Synthesis and Processing Technology for Materials, China, 2013.
  • Dr. Wu acted as the moderator for NSF Ceramic Program’s Principal Investigator Workshop, Arlington, 2013.
