High Chair

Sitting high upon my chair

looking down at whats not there.

Got myself up now, i'll get myself down

gotta be careful or I might drown

responsibilties cool

but I'm nobodies fool

my thoughts control what I allow

but of them I shall disavow

lifes a mess but theres no fear

death is worse so i'll stay up here

Glass Hammer

A wooden hammer for doing not much of anything with. Perhaps it will allow us to for a brief moment take stock of the incredible beuaty of mundane objects. Also we may make the connection that a tool could be as preciuos to a hyper masculine man as a piece of jewlry is to an A-typical female.

An abstract map of the area of the town of Hornell, part of the A space for Conversation show put on by Sydni Gauss's spring 2018 sculpture class, in a recently defunct barber shop. the map attempts to illustrate the way that roads paved over the thriving rail industry in Hornell. Interstae cutting through homes and communities and obseleting the railway indusrty in the town.

Antler tower

Originally a study of possible materials that could be manipulated on a wood carving lathe. Admittidly it resembles a chess piece but futre iterations will move from recognizable structure to mre abtract fields of vision.

Roman bottles

Two blown roman bottles, which are essentially bubbles of glass on elongated necks that now come to resemble vases. One dipped into hot wax as means of decorating the rim and base.
