Alpha Phi Omega - Epsilon Gamma

Alpha Phi Omega Pledge PinPledge Process
Alpha Phi Omega | Epsilon Gamma

Whether you are currently pledging, or are simply interested in APO, it is a good idea to understand the process by which you will become an Active in Alpha Phi Omega. Some of it is challenging, but all of it is fun, and designed to prepare you for Active Membership.

The process begins with our Recruitment/Rush Week events. This is your time to get information on the fraternity as a whole, and learn more about the brothers that you could possibly be joining. We offer a wide variety of Rush events ranging from games, to an invite dinner (where we'll pay for your food), to service events that we continue throughout the semester. Even if you are unsure of your ability or willingness to pledge our fraternity, you're free to come out and see if it's interesting and fun. There is no obligation to join even after attending Rush events.

If, after Rush Week, you decide Alpha Phi Omega is for you, you'll be welcomed to join in the Pledge Process. The Pledge Process includes a pledge pinning, as well as 6-7 weeks of pledgeship under the Pledge Mentor. This person will prepare you for the tests and requirements to gain Active Membership. That's right, tests, but don't worry- they are passable tests and we understand you have other commitments- we just want to make sure that APO is on your radar.

The purpose of the pledge period is to educate you on the principles, mission, and history of this Fraternity, along with enhancing your leadership skills by planning and executing projects. A list of these requirements can be found here. Having passed these requirements, you are eligible to become an Active in Alpha Phi Omega.

The final step in becoming an Active is the Brothering Ceremony. While we cannot disclose any information on the event, it is more or less a celebration of your accomplishments.
