Derivative and Integral Gateways - you must get 100% on these exams by February 7, 2014.
Login to WeBWork (you can use your Alfred username/password) and practice:
  • "Take Derivatives Gateway test" (or "Take Integrals Gateway test"). This is only a practice test, so you can generate as many of these as you want. Use the Calculus I Derivatives/Integrals sheet for additional practice.

  • Read the syllabus and complete the intro sheet.

  • Prepare for a derivative gateway exam! (come by and take it!)

  • 6.1 - p.237: 23-29. (the book says to shift so the general term involves $ x^k $, but you can shift so the general term involves $ x^n $). In other words, your final power series should look like $ \sum_{n=\text{start}}^{\infty} (\text{coefficient function that depends on $n$}) x^n $.

  • Create an account on SageMathCloud and login.
  • Feel free to upload the file from today's class by:
    1) Click "New Project"
    2) Give the project a name and click "Create Project"
    3) Open your project from the list of projects
    4) Click "Create or Import a File, Worksheet, Terminal or Directory"
    5) Paste the link (exactly as listed!) http://people.alfred.edu/~reff/MATH271/hw/Math271SageTesting.sagews into the the spot under "Name your new file (or paste in a link)"
    6) Click "Copy from Internet Link"
    7) Now click on "Files" from the menu above and you should be able to access "Math271SageTesting", which is the file I was working with today.
