"Turning Calculus Inside Out and Upside Down"
The derivative plays a role in a variety of applications. In this chapter we will examine how the derivative is used in related rates, in graphing functions, and in maximizing or minimizing certain quantities. In addition, we will consider some elementary differential equations and discuss how they mathematically model certain physical phenomena. |
