"Turning Calculus Inside Out and Upside Down"
Exponential functions have the special property that their
derivatives are proportional to themselves. Such functions
are important in modeling such phenomena as population growth
and radioactive decay. In this chapter we will study the
calculus of exponential functions as well as their inverses,
the logarithmic functions.
