"Turning Calculus Inside Out and Upside Down"
The functions studied in the previous chapters are part of the larger
family, the power functions, which in turn are part of the important
family of polynomial functions. The concepts introduced in the previous
chapters are extended to polynomial functions. Also derivative rules are
developed for functions which are constructed through the composition
of two functions, or by multiplying two functions together. Finally
piecewise functions are examined.
