Yin Liu (刘殷)

Graduate Research Assistant at Inamori School of Engineering, New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University

I was born in Zhengzhou, Henan province, China. I received my bachelor degree in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Science and Technology Beijing, China, where I began my early scientific explorations on two projects. The first one was under supervision of Prof.Dr.-Ing Kaikun Wang, focusing on semi-solid processing of A356 alloys-copper matrix composite and flow front FE simulation of thixoforging. The second project, also my bachelor thesis under supervision of Prof. Ping Yang, was on electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) analysis of commercial pipeline steels. The research goal was to optimize the bainite content and to identify the grain boundary effect on the crack initiation.

I am now a PhD candidate at the Inamori School of Engineering, New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. I have a broad range of research interests, including the doping mechanism and related optical and electrical properties in p-type transparent conducting oxides (as my thesis work), and the sintering and grain boundary behaviors of ceramics. You can find my recent research interests and publications on this personal webpage.
