Formed in 2001, the GVAA encompasses most of Allegany, Cattaraugus and Steuben Counties in Western, New York.  The original goals of the GVAA were to organize the annual Genesee Valley Living History Weekend, and to create a weekly league that would promote better competition for local atlatlists.
